Dan C. Knott was appointed Senior Vice President of Purchasing and Supplier Quality, Chrysler Group LLC, in December 2009. In this position, he is responsible for all worldwide purchasing and supplier quality activities, including both product-related components and indirect suppliers and services. He reports directly to Chrysler Group CEO Sergio Marchionne.
Previously, Knott served as Head of Vehicle Engineering and Vehicle Line Executive – A/B Segment since June 2009. In that role, he had full responsibility for all current vehicles and execution of future car, minivan, Jeep®, truck and SRT vehicle programs, along with vehicle development analysis and validation.
Prior to that position, Knott held the positions of Vice President – Car/Minivan/SRT Product Team and Vice President – Jeep Product Team for Chrysler LLC. In these positions, Knott oversaw all planning, engineering, development and launch management activities.
Knott joined the former Chrysler Corporation in 1988 as Senior Engineer – Air/Fuel Emission Systems. His professional and academic background also includes:

In 2010, Knott was inducted into the Viper Club of America Hall of Fame for the work he did on the Viper program. He was named No. 23 on Motor Trend’s 2006 Power List, which recognized the 50 most influential men and women in the automotive industry.
Knott finished fourth-in-class at the 2005 Targa Newfoundland Tarmac Rally. In addition to racing, he enjoys riding his motorcycle and perfecting wood-working projects. Knott stays active by running, fishing and playing golf often. Knott is extremely active inside and outside the company. He is currently serving a two-year term as Chair of the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council. In addition, he serves as the executive sponsor of the Chrysler Native American Employee Resource Group and co-chair of the Chrysler Diversity
Council. He is a member of the Advisory Board of Focus: HOPE, an organization dedicated to intelligent and practical solutions to the problems of hunger, economic disparity, inadequate education, and racial divisiveness. He is also a member of the board of trustees of New Horizons Rehabilitation Services, Inc., a notfor-profit rehabilitation agency providing quality vocational training and job placement services for people with disabilities.
He holds a Master of Business Administration (2002) and a Bachelor of Science in engineering (1983), both from Michigan State University.
